Message from JNU students: It’s time to stand with HCU and say firm no to Holi.

Campuses are burning, HCU is a war zone. Since a year the whole country has witnessed the largest student protests in this country’s history. Our Dusherra and Diwali were spent in ‪#‎OccupyUgc‬ fighting for fellowships and our new year for justice for Rohith.

Today the situation in HCU is no less than an emergency, students with professors detained at undisclosed locations. Messes closed, staff on strike, water being disconnected, internet being stopped, campus under a police seize with media, outsiders and political persons not being allowed.

Friends in these hard times we stand with HCU and it’s students and have decided to take part in their struggle. I would like to wish the campus and rest of others happy Holi but we have decided to stay away from the celebrations.

We cannot celebrate when our comrades are fighting just to survive, eat food, drink water, to trace their friends and professors. I believe it’s time to stand up and fight these forces.

It’s time to stand with HCU and say firm no to Holi.
