JNUTA Call for Protest at the Administration Block, on March 9, 4.00 PM

Dear Colleagues,

When our mass delegation met the Vice Chancellor on 4 March 2016 to forcefully raise the issues of the enquiry and the removal of the officiating Registrar, we asked for a prompt and clear response to our letter (enclosed). So far no written response has been received by the JNUTA from the University Administration. Instead, we have seen in this period additional proof of the fact that actors within the Administration are part of the conspiracy against the University (re: media reports about the statement of the officiating Registrar before the Enquiry Committee).

The JNUTA EC at its meeting on 7 March 2016 came to the view that the continuing intransigence of the University Administration can only be treated by us as another invitation to demonstrate our collective anger and our resolve to continue our struggle. Accordingly the JNUTA EC decided that on 9th March 2016, we shall have an assembly of teachers decorated with placards at the Administrative Block at 4.00 p.m. in which we shall move and adopt motions expressing our lack of confidence in the enquiry and de-recognizing the officiating Registrar. Two colleagues will be requested to move these motions detailing the grounds and charges forming their basis. The JNUTA EC also decided that beginning from this Assembly, teachers will as a mark of protest also wear black badges for the remaining days of the week (i.e. till 11 March 2016).

The JNUTA EC appeals to all teachers to participate in large numbers in the Assembly to demonstrate in no uncertain terms that the teachers stand firm in defense of the University.

Join in large numbers “Assembly of Teachers” at the Administrative Bloc at 4 PM on 9 March and adopt a few Motions on our Demands.
