Staff, Students and Faculty at IIM Bangalore

We are a group of faculty, staff, and students at IIMB, Bengaluru, shocked at the recent turn of events at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Jingoism and xenophobia masquerading as patriotism have sought to crush universities as pivotal sites of critical reason, argument, debate, and especially dissent. Bigoted and narrowly sectarian notions of nationalism have been used as an indefensible excuse to stifle independent thinking.

We express our solidarity with thousands of academics in India and beyond who have come out in support of universities as spaces where the “mind is without fear, and head is held high; where knowledge is free.”
